CAN I WEAR MAKE-UP TO MY APPOINTMENT?

Yes, you can wear make-up to the appointment – we will wipe the area with an antiseptic wipe before placing on the anaesthetic.

DO I NEED TO PURCHASE MY OWN ANESTHETIC?

No. Your appointment includes half an hour of the anaesthetic processing time before designing your tattoo. Throughout the procedure, we can top up the application so you can remain numb for the duration of your procedure.

HOW WILL I LOOK AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

After any cosmetic tattoo, there will be little redness or slight swelling to the area. We don’t recommend having a cosmetic tattoo procedure before an event / special occasion where the area might make you feel a little self-conscious. As the area heals, the pigment will deepen in colour before fading away, and this can last anywhere from 3 – 10 days.

WHAT IS THE POST CARE FOR COSMETIC TATTOOING?

Apply Bepanthen cream to tattooed area, Lips few times a day for ten days. Eyebrows & eyes three times a day for ten days. Apply a light film of Vaseline before you wash your face, it acts as a barrier, for up to 7 days. Do not pick, peel or scratch the treated area or your colour may heal unevenly, and you risk scarring and infection. Do not expose your healing skin to hot tubs, saunas, saltwater, chlorinated pools, direct shower spray, hot water, skin creams, ointments or lotions other than what you have been instructed to use for the two weeks following your procedure. Direct sun exposure and tanning beds should be avoided indefinitely on the face. Do not apply make-up on the treated area for 72 hours following the procedure. Do not use AHA or Retin A products on or near your tattoo, to avoid lightening. Avoid mascara for seven days and Eyelash Tinting or extensions for two weeks. Expect to wait 3-4 weeks before seeing the final result of your cosmetic tattooing procedure. The colour will initially appear several shades darker. It will then take 3-10 days for the colour to fade and re-appear lighter; lips approximately 50% lighter, eyes and eyebrows 30-40% lighter. If any correction or additional colour is needed, we suggest adjusting between 4-8 weeks at a reduced cost. We recommend that you refresh your cosmetic tattoo within two years. If you experience a cold sore please advice the clinician ASAP, as you may need an anti-viral post-treatment.

CAN I BRING FRIENDS OR CHILDREN TO MY APPOINTMENT?

We are flexible; however, they must remain in the waiting room. Only the tattooist and client can be in the room during the procedure due to Occupational Health & Safety.

CAN I BE PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING FOR COSMETIC TATTOOING?

Cosmetic tattooing procedures are not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
